Just for Fun

Fall Date Ideas with Free Printable

Hello and welcome to Fall!  Yay!  I’m excited because we are one step closer to decorating for Christmas!  Another reason I am excited is because the weather is going to get cooler and i get the chance to spend more time outside.

Fall Date Ideas

Sean and I sat down and made a list of things we wanted to try to do this fall.  Growing up in Florida there are only two seasons, hot and hurricane, so when we moved to Oklahoma we finally got to experience all four seasons.  Now everything is an adventure when the seasons change.  We get to experience so many things we’ve never been able to do before,

Here is our list of Fall Date ideas with a printable if you would like to try these out for yourselves.  I will be documenting what we get done, so stay tuned to find out how are new adventures turn out.

Go to a Fall Festival.

Here in rural Oklahoma there are a lot of Fall Festivals that happen in small towns over the fall months.  The annual one we were going to try to get to this year was just cancelled so we are hoping to find another one to.  They are always filled with lots of food and arts and crafts and a its fun thing to do and an opportunity to visit with neighbors.

Visit a Farmer’s Market.

One of our favorite farmer’s markets is about an hour from us.  We can buy everything from produce, canned goods to grass fed beef.  I would like to go and get some fresh fall produce and see what other fall related foods are available.  There are also several small towns near us that have farmer’s markets and it will be interesting to see what they have as well.

Go on a Fall Foliage Drive.

I think this is one that I am most excited about.  We live among many mountain peaks so it is absolutely breathtaking to drive through when the leaves change color.  Currently we are experiencing a deluge of rain that is bringing our first true cold front and I’m so happy that I’ll be able to open the windows next week showing us those first signs of fall.  In a few places you can already see the first initial signs of leaves changing.

Watch A Sunset.

There is a lodge on top of a mountain close to us that would be a great place to watch the sunset.  It’s a nice drive up there, and they have areas to hike and camp.  We will probable incorporate the foliage drive and the next idea all together.

Photo Scavenger Hunt

We have never done any kind of scavenger hunt together, so I thought it would be fun to make a list of things we might see this fall and take pictures to have memories of our adventures together.

Take A Long Walk.

I love to walk.  There is nothing better than walking in cool, brisk, clean air..  This is definitely one the dogs will accompany us on.  It is so much fun to watch Darcy chase leaves!

Go to a Pumpkin Patch.

As a married couple we have never gone to a pumpkin patch and picked out a pumpkin together.  I found a local farm that has a pumpkin patch that we are going to check out.

Carve those pumpkins.

Another thing we haven’t done together is carve pumpkins.  This one could get interesting!

Have a Bonfire and and make S’mores.

We currently live on a large property with tons of trees.  We will collect the fallen limbs and build a fire.  What’s cozier and more romantic than sitting next to a fire and roasting marshmallows?   However, since Sean is a former firefighter, I often think he is more interested in the fire than the romance of it!

Cook a meal together.

Having a nice evening to cook together and just enjoy each other’s company is always great.

Bake a Fall treat.

I really love to bake, and Sean enjoys helping me.  I have been wanting to try a gluten free version of my mom’s apple cake recipe.  It is a quintessential fall recipe and we definitely will get to enjoy the outcome.

Go on a picnic.

One more excuse to enjoy the outside with my hubby, eat good food and relax.

Try a new restaurant.

We eat at a lot of the same places.  We always want to try new places, but rarely ever do.  I figured if we put it on a list, we are more likely to do it.  This will also give us a chance to get out of our culinary comfort zone.

Do a Corn Maze.

Going through a corn maze is something neither one of us has done before.  They look like so much fun, and it encourages us to work together.  I’m really looking forward to this one as well.

Watch a Fall Movie.

Talk about cozy.  I love a good Hallmark movie and they always have great ones out for the fall.  Sean and I both usually enjoy them, so this is another way to spend quality quiet time together, cuddled up with Darcy and Toby too, of course!
